As reported in the Western Suburbs Weekly -
This striking home was the very first house to be completed in Subiaco Rise and was visited by Prince Charles during his 2005 trip to WA.
Back then, the neighbourhood was in its infancy and the future king of England was given a tour to illustrate its stunning transformation from industrial to residential.
The current owners had wanted to buy in Subi Centro some years earlier but couldn't find their 'perfect' house.
"We were fortunate that the land for the Rise subdivision was about to be auctioned, we were lucky to secure that last and best block in the very first auction of 12 blocks and have never looked back. Centro is such a terrific area and we have loved being positioned just a stone's throw from the beautiful park and lake. It is perfect for picnics, dog walking, exercising or just relaxing. We are also close enough to walk into Subi for the footy or to a restaurant, which we often do".
The couple enlisted Buildwise to fulfil their vision of a home that had a well considered design, with quality finishes, modern lines, functionality and generous room sizes.
"We had a few other must haves - the cellar, the solid timber open staircase, the large pivot front door and a void space with full-height glass. We wanted the home to be filled with light and to bring the outside in. The north facing corner block was the perfect setting for that.
The home has a host of very practical features, such as an automatic pergola roof over the back outdoor area, which makes the space usable year-round, and a large purpose-built office on the ground floor, which has allowed the couple to both work from home.
The house also has a temperature controlled cellar for 600 bottles of wine, an A-Bus music system and airconditioning controllable by room.
